Recording Barbara Karlich Book Club

Every second week, the ORF journalist and talk show host on Radio Burgenland invites guests to talk about their favorite books. How have these books influenced their lives, which literary places have particularly touched them. I had the privilege of being a guest on the January 21 broadcast. Thanks to the excellent preparation of my host, the three hours of the program seemed to pass particularly quickly. We discussed my two books "100xAustria Judaism" and "Lechaim" as well as various catalogs that I had produced for the Jewish Museum on the occasion of various exhibitions for which I was responsible or curated. Of my favorite books, the Radetzky March by Joseph Roth, "A Story of Love and Darkness" by Amos Oz, whom I so admire, "Yesterday's World" by Stefan Zweig, "The Miracle of Survival" by Ernst Lothar, "The Art-Silk Girl" by Irmgard Keun, and "Fanny von Arnstein or Emancipation" by Hilde Spiel were on our discussion program. I could talk about each of these books for many hours.
