It was with great pleasure that I was able to speak about my book "Le Chaim" at Buch Wien. It was impressive how the huge exhibition hall was filled with a very mixed audience and an interested and enthusiastic atmosphere. Austria's largest book fair extends over five days, during which renowned authors present their works. A wide variety of publishers offer their products, readings and talks take place on various stages, and in some lounges you can meet the writers. I found the presence of many young people and numerous school classes remarkable.
The interview with me about my book "Le Chaim was conducted by the deputy editor-in-chief of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Alexandra Föderl-Schmid. We talked about the Jewish holidays, especially Hanukkah, Passover and the Jewish New Year, as well as the weekly day of rest Shabbat. Alexandra Föderl-Schmid, who had herself reported from Israel for some time, shared her impressions of the holidays in Israel. After our talk, I had the opportunity to engage in conversation with the audience and was pleased to make many interesting contacts.
In any case, a visit to this exciting fair is definitely recommended.
