After two years of pandemic and the resulting breaks of many events, the Austrian National Tourist Office invited to an exciting event in the Libelle of Vienna's Museumsquartier. Under the title "Market Insights Live", an interactive exchange of knowledge about the development of the markets, the latest trends and their significance for Austrian tourism took place above the rooftops and with a wonderful view of Vienna.
Nach den intensiven Workshops durfte ich als Mitglied des Stiftungsvorstands des Leopold Museums die Gäste in die Räume der Ausstellung Wien 1900 begleiten. Gemeinsam mit Direktor Hans-Peter Wipplinger stellten wir das Werk Tod und Leben vor. Dieses wichtige Ölgemälde von Gustav Klimt, an dem er ab 1910 über mehrere Jahre arbeitete und das in vielen verschiedenen Städten zu sehen war, zeigt Menschen aller Generationen in hellen Pastelltönen. Ihnen gegenüber steht der Tod, der sich teuflisch grinsend auf sie freut. Dieses Meisterwerk des Jugendstils wurde Ziel eines Anschlags von Klimaaktivisten, durch das Schutzglas wurde das Gemälde nicht beschädigt.
After a short tour through the exhibition rooms, the common end took place again in the Libelle and offered the opportunity for an intensive exchange of ideas about the new start of Austrian tourism after the difficult Covid years.
